One of the biggest names in world cinema, Steven Spielberg, surprisingly loves the Call of Duty games. The Hollywood legend, a fan of the CoD series, reportedly prefers to play these games as a PC gamer using a keyboard and mouse.
The person who uncovered this detail about the filmmaker’s life is his son, Max Spielberg, who also worked on the game Lynked: Banner of the Spark. Max revealed this lesser-known interest of his father for the first time. Here are the details…
Steven Spielberg’s Hidden Admiration Exposed
Max stated, “He was the one who got me into gaming,” and mentioned that his father has a significant interest in games and is a great player. He emphasized that while Spielberg is not particularly fond of gaming consoles, he is a good PC gamer.
Max noted that his father has an impressive gaming computer and said, “This is our point of connection.” He shared that Spielberg once asked him, “Which new Call of Duty should I play? Send me a list of the top five shooting games, and I’ll download them so we can play together when you come home.”
As an “old-school” PC gamer, Steven Spielberg prefers playing with a keyboard and mouse because he’s not very good with controllers. Max even mentioned that he tried to convince his father to play Uncharted, as he thought it resembled the Indiana Jones series: “He’s always been a fan of Call of Duty. He loves playing CoD. He’s really interested in story-driven games. I always tell him he should play Uncharted. You know, he’ll love it because it resembles Indiana Jones.”
Max Spielberg also stated that his father plays a lot of mobile games. Currently working in the gaming industry, Max noted that Steven Spielberg closely follows game development processes, carefully reviewing concept art and progress, and sometimes offering significant ideas to him.
